Learn from SEEDS experts on how to save money on your energy bills!

This online community workshop will help residents understand their home energy use and learn practical ways to reduce monthly utility costs. Led by trained SEEDS volunteers, this session is designed for homeowners and renters who want to make their homes more comfortable, efficient, and affordable.

This one‑hour workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of building science, giving them the tools to identify inefficiencies and problem areas in their own homes. Understanding how air, heat, and moisture move through a building is essential to controlling energy costs. The session will show residents how to evaluate key systems that influence comfort and utility bills, including air management, moisture management, ventilation, insulation, water use, and overall energy use. Participants will also be introduced to a host of online tools available on the SEEDS website to assess their home needs and sign up for a free home energy assessment offered by SEEDS volunteers.

“Saving money on energy bills starts with understanding how your home actually works,” said Michele Long SEEDS Development Director. “By learning the basics of building science and evaluating systems like air flow, moisture, and insulation, residents can make informed decisions that improve comfort and reduce costs.”
