SEEDS Seeks Coordinator to Lead Home Energy Assessment Program in Lackawanna County

March 16, 2022

HONESDALE – SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support) is seeking a part-time program coordinator to continue a valuable energy efficiency assessment program.

SEEDS’ The Energy Awareness Action Movement (TEAAM) initiative encourages local homeowners to save energy through energy assessments done by SEEDS volunteers, and students who will be trained by SEEDS and a certified instructor. This intergenerational program also allows low-income families to save money on their energy bills and provides students with interactive, hands-on experience that can be used in their future lives and careers. This program is supported by a Robert H. Spitz Environmental Grant from the Scranton Area Community Foundation, which is allowing SEEDS to expand the program into Lackawanna County in Summer 2022.

The program coordinator would work from mid-May through August, $14 to $15 per hour for approximately 15 hours per week for 12 weeks. The coordinator will work with SEEDS volunteers and high school interns in Lackawanna County, including office work with option of flex time and working at home.

While the job is administrative and managerial in nature, an interest in or experience with energy, energy efficiency, housing construction, and/or municipal support programs, as well as a passion for and some experience in sustainability related projects will all be beneficial to the work. Short classroom and hands-on training will be provided on these issues.

Responsibilities will  include: participating in the training program at the start of the assessment season; record keeping of intern schedule and time, volunteer schedule and mileage, assessment client information, assessment scheduling and coordination; providing directions and supervision to interns on office work days, and collaborating with volunteers on supervision during assessments; and more.

A complete job description can be found at www.seedsgroup.net/assessments. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume by April 4, 2022 to SEEDS, 1030 Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 or by email to executivedirector@seedsgroup.net
