Flexible, Part-Time (10 hrs/week, $15/hour)

This position works with the Executive Director and Outreach Circle to increase SEEDS presence and interaction in the community. Opportunities to work from home and in the SEEDS office are available. SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education & Development Support) of Northeastern Pennsylvania, is an award winning community-based 501c(3) organization committed to promoting energy efficiency, developing local renewable energy infrastructure, and encouraging sustainable living in our region—all to improve the health of our environment, our citizens and our local economy. To advance these initiatives, SEEDS leads virtual and physical community forums, workshops and events, residential and nonprofit energy efficiency and solar assessments, and environmental education programs for children, adults and professionals. Candidates should have interest in community relations, marketing and public affairs. Experience within a sustainability-related nonprofit is preferred. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Candidates will be judged on their experience and command of outreach tools and communication skills.



The Outreach Assistant will typically work from home or in the SEEDS office, if there are no events to attend. The position is regularly required to extensively make use of close vision to read correspondence and prepare reports and other appropriate communications. S/he/they must also be able to be hold a valid driver’s license to attend SEEDS meetings and events, including those at construction sites such as solar PV installations, and those at farms such as when recording a farm tour. As a part of the Outreach Circle team, the position will also require assisting in the physical set-up and preparation for special events and activities. Meetings and events might require evening and weekend attendance.
