Volunteers needed for TEAAM

May 26, 2011

Hey Folks, SEEDS is running a wonderful program this summer that employs local youth and encourages residential energy conservation by providing 100 free energy assessments to homes in Wayne and Pike counties. The Energy Awareness Action Movement will begin the last week of June and run until August 5th.

In order to make this program work, we need volunteers to accompany a team of two high school students into the field on home visits. We are asking for a commitment of  3 to 5 hours per week for the weeks between July 5 and August 5th. You’re role will be supervisory…essentially making sure that the students are safe. But we guarantee you will learn something! And as an added bonus, we are offering you a free invitation to the four day assessment training featuring Nick Hindley, BPI certified energy auditor and local energy conservation guru. Dan Card from Waste Management will be sharing his knowledge on residential waste reduction including recycling and compost, and we are hoping to get Lisa Alexander, certified LEEP AP, Ecobroker and founder of Project Farmhouse to come in a teach us about water conservation. The training will be a mix of classroom time and in the field assessing.

Can you help? Do you know someone who can? We need you to make this work!

Please call Doni at 570.630.0592, email teaam@seedsgroup.net, or fill out our new online form if you can help. We all thank you in advance!
