In addition to our annual business meeting, featuring annual elections, Chair, Treasury, Operational Reports and the “Year in Review”, SEEDS will feature 2 local sustainability initiatives that we wanted you to know more about:

Free Baked Good from the Park Street Café will be served!

We are proud to present Maya Kovalyov, President of Haven from Humanity, whose mission is to inspire and motivate people of all-ages to live in harmony with Nature. They are a self-sustainable educational campground and community wellness center. Maya will discuss their use of permaculture and edible forest design, and their 60 foot BioEnergy greenhouse that grows algae used to feed their anaerobic digester and more. So much is happening just an hour away and SEEDS wanted you to know more about their successes.

Also, here in Honesdale, former SEEDS Board Member Kim Emmett developed a community collaborative program with sustainable goals and practices. Kim runs Community Vocation Services, providing training and job opportunities for people with disabilities. They staff and run the Park Street Café in the Park Street Complex several days a week, working with Heather Hogan-Spencer. Come learn how the sustainability model has inspired this wonderful project, and enjoy free baked goods from their kitchen!
