About the SEEDS Home Energy Efficiency Assessment Program

A SEEDS Home Energy Efficiency Assessment will help you conserve energy, improve your home’s comfort level and save money!

Our assessment team will inspect the interior and exterior of your home and provide simple steps and advice for improving your home’s energy efficiency.  We assist you in determining the cause of problems you may be experiencing with heat loss, air infiltration, moisture issues, and the high energy cost for heating and cooling. We will recommend measures you can take to help reduce your energy bills.

The assessment is limited to visible and accessible areas of your building. It is a guide to assist you in making decisions on energy-saving improvements. This assessment is not a complete energy audit and does not include Blower Door Testing or in-depth assessments of the HVAC system in the building. It is for educational and informational purposes only. It is limited to its intended purpose: to help determine the areas of energy loss in the building. Assessments are performed by experienced and trained SEEDS volunteers and Interns, but we are NOT certified energy auditors. The assessment is not a warranty or guarantee of any of the building improvements we recommend.

Our Building Energy Assessment Includes:

The SEEDS Energy Efficiency TEAM

The SEEDS Energy Efficiency team is made up of SEEDS adult volunteers and paid local college student interns. Everyone is trained by a course designed by a certified building analyst professional. Our team is not affiliated with any business, and assessments are fully funded by membership dues and grants, so you can rest assured that you are receiving impartial recommendations for reducing your energy bills and/or fossil-fuel dependency.

Note: While we are trained in energy assessment techniques, we are not certified energy auditors. Our assessments are for educational and informational purposes only.
