Green Business Award nominations sought by The Chamber of The Northern Poconos

In cooperation with SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education & Development Support), The Chamber of the Northern Poconos wishes to honor a member business for their sustainable business practices, which can include: energy conservation, renewable power, transportation, water conservation, purchasing/waste prevention, and recycling/composting. Annual recognition of a Green Business of the Year is our way to appreciate businesses for making this region a more sustainable place to live and work. The 5th annual Green Business of the Year will be honored at The Chamber’s Community Awards Dinner in October.

SEEDS is proud to be one of the co-sponsor’s of The Chamber of the Northern Poconos’ Annual Community Awards Banquet this October.

We urge all sustain-ably minded member organizations to consider submitting a simple application for this year’s GREEN BUSINESS Award, due Aug 26.

SEEDS and The Chamber are dedicated to making this region a more sustainable place to live and work.  Get the recognition you deserve, and perhaps more importantly, share your efforts with others who can learn and implement some of your green business practices. 

Former honorees include: Nature’s Grace (for solar PV installation), Stephens Pharmacy/Northeast Med-Equip (for creating an employee “Green Team”), Wayne Memorial Hospital (for eliminating Styrofoam) and Himalayan Institute (for a commitment to zero waste).
