SEEDS will start our 2014 forum schedule with something we are all thinking about right now….HEAT!!!!!
Our first two forums of 2014 will cover Heating your Home and Your Hot Water Efficiently.
On Tuesday, February 18th, the topic will be “Heating Your Home Efficiently”
On Tuesday, March 18th, the topic will be “Heating Your Water Efficiently”
Both will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 pm
at the Park Street Complex
648 Park Street, Honesdale, PA
across from the Wayne Memorial Hospital
Discussion will include comparison of ground source heat pumps, air-to-air source heat pumps, packaged terminal air conditioning, wood/pellet burners, on-demand systems, solar water heating, and electric and gas furnaces. If you aren’t familiar with these, it will be a valuable learning experience.
Anyone considering new construction or retrofitting an existing system should not miss these forums.
Presenters will be two members of SEEDS’ Advisory Committee: Larry Reeger, who lives in Waymart, PA and is a Green Building Educator and Assistant Professor of Green Building at SUNY Sullivan, and Gordon Smith, a resident of Honesdale and president of a regional company called Renewable Energy Solutions.
“Our goal is to help people be comfortable in their homes while saving money and energy.” says SEEDS Chair, Katharine Dodge. “Because of new and changing developments in heating technology, we thought these forums would be helpful.”
