OUR LOCAL FOOD HUB – Tuesday Night April 15th at The Cooperage

March 22, 2014

Come to The Cooperage for a discussion about OUR LOCAL FOOD HUB. Learn about eating locally and why it is such a good idea!

What is a food hub? What is happening here in our area? How can I eat more locally produced foods? Are you a farmer interested in a larger market? Are you interested in food, jobs, youth and the health and progression of our Wayne County community?

Come hear about the Wayne County Food Hub – an effort to stimulate the economy of our local farming community by purchasing food from our local farmers and producers.  It is already happening! And has already created training and job opportunities!

SEEDS wants to help organize a greater effort to support local food production and consumption. Come learn how you can benefit. Or learn how you might help!

Panelists will be discussing existing food hub initiatives, their community benefits, and how each of us can contribute to a larger effort.

This program is free and open to all.

Come early for delicious local food. The Cooperage Café opens at 6:00 pm. The forum begins at 7:00 pm.

The Cooperage is located at 1030 Main Street in Honesdale.

Pre-registration is appreciated. Contact SEEDS at (570) 245 – 1256 or email Jocelyn@seedsgroup.net  or simply complete the Contact Us panel on the right.

Walk-Ins are also welcome!

A special thanks goes out to The Wayne County Employment Coalition for the development of this program.
