Ice Cream Social for SEEDS Volunteers!

May 14, 2025

SEEDS of Northeast Pennsylvania will host an Ice Cream Social from 2-4pm on July 20, 2025 for volunteers and potential volunteers at the Paupack Recreation Pavillion at 35 Recreation Road, Lakeville, PA.  SEEDS is a local non-profit volunteer organization that promotes energy efficiency, renewable energies, and sustainable living in our communities. They provide virtual and in person community forums and workshops, free residential and nonprofit energy assessments, and environmental education programs for children, adults, and professionals. They also serve as a platform for sustainability information and news.

Volunteering can mean something different for everyone. Some volunteers work to address environmental issues, provide education, or improve the basic well-being of individuals in their community. But by volunteering, not only are you giving your time and energy to an organization that needs your specific skill set, or no skill set at all, volunteering for an organization or group that shares your values can be extremely rewarding. It can provide a sense of contributing to the greater good, a sense of belonging, and fosters connections between people with varied backgrounds and experiences.

SEEDS runs on time and dedication that is offered by our multi-talented group of volunteers, and we have so much to offer those who may be interested in volunteering their time. Volunteers take many roles including helping sort books at our annual Book Share event, developing content for our monthly e-newsletter, providing a free home energy efficiency assessments to homeowners, or solar assessments for homeowners to help them determine if a residential solar project is the best fit for their property and their needs.

Please come out to meet some of our volunteers, learn about volunteer opportunities, or just enjoy some locally sourced ice cream from Creamworks Creamery!  Registration is requested by clicking here
