Update on Lacawac Sanctuary’s Solar PV system

The 8.4-kilowatt capacity system was expected to provide nearly 90% of the annual electricity used in the building, which includes Lacawac Sanctuary’s main offices and biology research laboratory, saving them more than $1100 in yearly operating costs.

An Educational Forum about Solar Technologies…   There will be an educational forum on solar technologies on Tuesday, November 18th from 7 to 9 PM at the Park Street Complex (former Stourbridge school) in Honesdale. Solar electric and hot water systems will be discussed by solar installers Toni Lynch, owner of Better World Building in Bangor, PA, and Tim Hollinger, energy consultant with SunLion Energy Systems, Inc. located in Lancaster County, PA. Also, local farmers Ira Curtis and Dick Riseling will share their personal experiences with solar systems in use on their farms.
